The 10 Best Rainy Day Activities in Albury Wodonga - Life with the Lamsays

When the weather takes a turn for the worst, the border has a range of indoor activities so that you can still have lots of fun! Check out our suggestions, and feel free to leave your own in the comments!

Leisure Centre - Whilst you might still be getting wet, swimming indoors is something the whole family can enjoy, whilst getting some light exercise in too. Wodonga Sports & Leisure Centre doesn’t have a water park or a slide, but if you bring a ball or a few pool toys along, it’s amazing what games the kids come up with on their own.

Library - A great place to go to stay dry, enjoy a book, and relax. Both Albury & Wodonga’s libraries have galleries within the buildings, and those exhibitions are fun to check out - they also have cafes next door to them so that’s an win! All 3 (Lavington included) have kids play areas, with a variety of things to do.

Bounce - This one is always a winner in our books! There’s plenty of different things to do - climbing walls, dodgeball, a big bag & more. Everyone can run wild and burn off some energy, or you can sit down and let the kids do it by themselves. There’s hot & cold drinks, a kids play area with a ball pit, and it’s all indoors. So much fun!

Inflatable Funhouse - This is another massive winner on a miserable day, especially with the kids. They have VR there too, a little kids section, as well as the huge inflatables for the bigger kids.

Cinema - This one is on the pricier side, especially if you’re seeing a new movie. But if you’re due for a family date day, then why the heck not?! Spend a couple of hours here, sit & relax, and enjoy some popcorn and snacks in the dark - what more could you ask for?

Intencity - Right next to the cinema is an arcade haven! There’s lots of different games to play that will keep you entertained for ages (both grown ups and kids). If you’re looking for something fun to do when pouring down - this is it!

Soft Play - Let the little ones play whilst you have a coffee and watch from afar. Rumble Tumbles in Albury have a section for the little bubs, as well as an awesome play area for the slightly older ones. Miserable day? Soft play!

3D Lanes Bowling - A great way to show your competitive side, and enjoy a family day together at the same time. I loved going bowling with my family as a kid, and we haven’t been since Hunter was born - so that’s something we’ll have to do soon I think, especially now they have mini golf!

Museum - The kids gallery at MAMA is always nice to look at, and there’s also a range of artwork to see on the upper floor. With free entry too, this is a great place to escape the rain for a little while.

Indoor Skate Park - Yes, the outdoor skate parks are heaps of fun! But when it’s raining, it’s no fun at all, and it can get quite dangerous. If you haven’t been to Al’s Skate Co yet, definitely check them out! It’s $10 for an hour’s casual skate session and you just bring your bike, scooter, skateboard etc, and go nuts. Hunter and his little mate loved riding their balance bikes around!

Until next time!
