We went to a party at Al’s Skate Co

It’s been a little while since our last post, but today we helped our niece, and Hunter’s cousin, celebrate her 7th birthday at Al’s Skate Co. They’re an indoor skate park with a fully stocked retail & online store. You can go for a casual skate/scoot, they do one on one lessons, as well as a school holiday program, and of course, you can host a birthday party there too. They have gear you can hire (except for helmets) or you can bring your own. Their vision is “to encourage participation in skateboarding. Introduce and engage people of all ages in the skateboarding community whilst promoting the physical and mental health benefits.”

We brought Hunter’s balance bike along, and he loved racing around on it, he also borrowed his friend’s scooter, as well as having a go on a skateboard! One of the awesome instructors there, Shannon, helped him do a couple of tricks on both the scooter and the skateboard and Hunty was living his best life! Despite being the youngest kid at the park, he was very much included and loved every minute of it.

He’s still not too good at getting out of the way of the bigger kids, and he had a couple of collisions, but nothing he couldn’t brush off. It tired him out, and all the kids had a great afternoon! We’ll definitely be going back there when it’s too wet to go to the outdoor skate parks.

Check out their website here to read more about Al’s Skate Co, and if it seems like it’s your kind of vibe, then drop in and take off!

 Until next time!
