Supportive services

With people struggling to make ends meet, and mental health being an issue a lot of people struggle with, Life with the Lamsays want to be able to simplify access to the supportive services needed to get people in Albury Wodonga back on their feet. From centres to councelling services, to food kitchens, we've created a free guide for you to use, and refer back to at any time.

If you would like to have a free listing added, please send through an expression of interest to our email address thelamsay@outlook.com

Community Centres are a great resource when looking for support services. Felltimber Community Centre has a welcoming atmosphere which is accessible to all members of the community. Wodonga Council's maternal and child health and early years services operate from this space, as well as classes & playgroups for little ones, support groups for adults, arts & crafts programs, health & wellbeing programs, and more. They also have clothes and food available for those who need it. Some of the playgroups held there are run by the council, and others are run by volunteers.

Neighbourhood Houses are also another fantastic service that are available, our local one being Birallee Park. They are involved with the Our Table to Yours project, and cook meals for those who need it in the community every week. It runs midweek and they're free to do. Their programs encourage members of the community to make positive change in their life, regardless of their circumstances. This is done by providing people with access to a flexible training space that has fully integrated sound systems, laptops, iPads and data equipment available in either 3 separate rooms, or one large open space as required. The house is also close to local schools, Birallee Shopping Centre, and public transport, for ease of access.

The Women's Centre in Albury provides a range of helpful and affordable services to the women in our community. This includes: counseling, therapeutic groups, domestic violence support, no interest loans through Good Shepherd, and more. Click the link to find out more info through their website, or alternatively, give them a call on the number below.

Insight Therapies offer a range of support services including: Wellbeing group sessions tailored for your teams needs to promote team cohesion, communication etc, Insight-full Kids - helping children 6-11 manage big feelings, Connected Kids  - a long term program helping 4-6 year olds develop social skills etc, Professional Development Training - helping you to become a Canine Assisted Therapist.

FoodShare Albury Wodonga runs a Community Pantry Program to help support members of the community experiencing financial hardship by providing access to fresh fruit and vegetables, protein and dairy products as well as a range of pantry staples. Frozen pre-prepared meals and some household items are also available as well as dog and cat food for pet owners.

This organisation is growing at a rapid rate, receives no government funding, and is mainly volunteer run, so if you are able to support by donating your time, or food, jump on to their website to find out how you can help.

A voucher is needed to access this program, however if you or your family are struggling to put food on the table, especially with the cost of living crisis we're currently in, the agencies listed below are facilitating access to FoodShare vouchers.
