Things to do during the school holidays - Life with the Lamsays
Visit Santa at your local shopping centre - Wodonga Plaza, West End Plaza in Albury & Lavington Square. Make sure you get your photo with Santa this year to kick start that Christmas magic. We haven’t started that tradition yet, but will make sure we do it this year! He’s also appearing at Harris Farm Markets, and out at Killara too, so there’s plenty of choice this year!
WAVES Wodonga - Get the kids in the pool and enjoy being outside when the weather decides it wants to play the game. There’s a great water play section for little ones, as well as plenty of space for lane and recreational swimming.
BOUNCE Wodonga - Get the kids to burn off some energy on the trampolines, the soft play area, and enjoy playing some dodgeball. Book online to save some money, and then grab a coffee whilst you’re there too.
Albury Children’s Garden in the Botanic Gardens - A great place for little ones to explore and have fun, with a little playground inside. We call it the dinosaur park, and it’s right near the Oddies Creek Playspace which is also a great place for kids to explore! There’s the Riverdeck Cafe down there too, so you can still get your coffee fix or some lunch.
Beechworth Berry Farm is always a great idea! With all our favourite berries becoming quite pricey at the supermarkets these days, it’s nice to go out and pick your own, and the kids have lots of fun doing it too. They’re huge and juicy, and you can get as many as you like! Lake Sambell playground isn’t too far away from there which is a nice spot to sit and enjoy your pickings.
Visit a playground - Belvoir, Bill Black and Max Beck are three of our favourite parks in Wodonga. When it’s a nice day, but you don’t feel like spending money, get the kids to the playground! Pack a picnic if you like and spend a couple of hours there - you could visit a couple each week and you’d still have plenty that you haven’t been to yet.
Red Stag Deer & Emu Farm - A great place for little ones to feed the animals, whilst also grabbing a good meal with some stunning views. Located in Eurobin, but it’s well worth the drive out there. This is always a hit with Hunter!
If you feel like a longer drive, you could go to Wagga Wagga where they have their little zoo, and huge adventure playground next to the “beach”. It’s a bit of a journey, but you can definitely make a whole day out of it. They also have a soft play area called Noah’s Ark if you’re looking for something to do indoors.
Until next time!
