School Holidays in Albury Wodonga 2025 - Life with the Lamsays

Life with the Lamsays are back for another year of family fun!

With back to school time fast approaching, here's a few fun ideas that you can do on the border in the next couple of weeks (in case you're in need of some inspiration).

We recently signed up for an aquatic membership at the leisure centre, and for a family it's about $30 a fortnight and you can access all 4 pools whenever you like - WSLC, Waves, Albury and Lavington (if you sign up at the sports centre). So with that in mind, why not sign up and do a few trips to the outdoor pools whilst the weather is still nice and hot? We usually go to the indoor pool during the week to get Hunter some swimming practice in, and then WAVES at the weekend for some fun at the splash park - he loves it and there's kids there of all ages. Check the facilities' calendar to see what's happening at each pool during the holidays too - there's $5 family swim days and more!

The Birallee Tavern in Wodonga has recently reopened, so we'll definitely be going for a meal there soon. They have a brand new menu which looks delicious, they've renovated the place completely, and they've also added an outdoor play area for the kids which Hunter has been begging to go to - so stay tuned for our review in the near future.

If you fancy a trip out of town, Beechworth Berries is great for a fun family activity. Their berries taste much better than the store bought ones, and you can head out to Lake Sambell afterwards to enjoy them, have a swim there as well, and there's a playground out there for the kids. This is always a hit for us! Don't forget that the Wild Flour Bakehouse cart is out in Stanley too on Saturday mornings if you're after some tasty treats.

3D Lanes bowling alley in Wodonga have some school holiday specials on at the moment. They had a bit of a freshen up not too long ago, and admittedly we haven't taken Hunter bowling yet - so it's definitely on our list of places to check out. They have mini golf there too, as well as various hot food options.

Hopefully this has given you some last minute inspiration before the kids are back at school. Have fun, and stay safe!
