McDonald’s PlayPlaces we’ve been to so far - Life with the Lamsays

We did over 50 outdoor playgrounds last year, and we did a fair few indoor play spaces too. But what’s better than a great McDonald’s PlayPlace where you can access free WiFi, enjoy a cuppa, a bit of food, and let the kids burn off some energy?

Sure, they may not always be the cleanest of playgrounds, but you don’t see anyone out there scrubbing down the outdoor parks do you? On our short travel stints so far, we’ve been to 8 different McDonald’s that Hunter has had a play in the kids area. We also have a couple of Maccas nearby that Hunter hasn’t checked out yet, so once we’ve done those, that’s already 10 down - what the heck?!

So which ones have we been to? We’ve done the two Wodonga ones (Homemaker and Birallee), we’ve been out to the East Albury one near the airport, and we’ve been to both Glenrowan North & South on our trips to and from Melbourne. When we were headed back from Sydney, we stopped off for a break in Goulburn, and Hunter throughly enjoyed the play area there, and before heading back home from Melbourne we had some food at Broadmeadows and little man had a play in that one. And this last one is only small, but we’ve stopped at the Wallan service station a few times, and there’s a McDonald’s playground in there too - the Maccas in Wallan itself looks great though, so we’ll have to stop there next time!

So if you’re not opposed to the greasy, but delicious fast food, or you just need a good coffee whilst your kid plays, then Maccas is your best bet. I wonder how many more of these playgrounds we can check out this year?

Until next time!

  1. The Wallan McDonald’s play area is great - very similar to East Albury with a high climbing area.
