Play spaces in North Melbourne worth visiting

Whilst Hunter and I were in Melbourne, we managed to visit 4 outdoor playgrounds. We were only there for 2 and a half days, so we wanted to make the most of it!

A couple of these parks were within walking distance of my parents’ house, and Hunter loved exploring them. The weather was beautiful too, especially for Melbourne, so it was great to spend so much time outdoors in the fresh air.

The other two playgrounds required a bit of a drive to get to them, however, the Eltham North Adventure playground was right near the Edendale Community Farm we visited, so we didn’t have to travel any extra distance to reach this one.

It had a cool tractor feature, which Hunter loved prentending to drive! He really loved the farm theme, and I definitely think he would’ve stayed here longer if we’d let him. If you’re around this part of Melbourne, I’d recommend bringing the kids here.

Diamond Creek Regional Play space was huge! There was so much equipment to play on, Hunter was spoilt for choice here. He absolutely loved going on the flying fox with Uncle Carter and Auntie Peanut. He also made a little friend near the slides and they were taking it in turns going down them. This would be a great place to host an outdoors birthday party, and if we were near this area, we’d definitely make a lot of use out of this park.

Dunstan Reserve playground, Brunswick West. You can see this playground from my parents’ front door, it’s super close, and it’s recently had an upgrade! They have a water feature, stepping stones, and a climbing rock, as well as the usual slide, swings, monkey bars etc. When we visit next time, I’m sure we’ll be straight back to this park! Hunter had lots of fun with Grumps on the swings, and getting Nana Sue to chase him as he raced down the slide and then back up again.

Another playground that’s close to my parents’ house, and this one has two slides (so we could race each other of course). It also had a roundabout, which is Hunter’s favourite feature at Sumsion Gardens, so he was so excited to find one here to play on. It’s amazing how many playgrounds are close by, just like at home.

We’ll be sure to do another post like this if we find more playgrounds on our next trip to Melbourne in a couple of months.

Until next time!
