Street Libraries in Wodonga, VIC - Life with the Lamsays

Have you seen the cute little wooden boxes with books in them around Wodonga? Do you love reading, but really don’t want to clutter your space with endless amount of books? This might be the perfect solution for you!

Instead of going to the bigger libraries, you can visit one of these wooden boxes, borrow books from them, or you can bring to book to swap, and drop your old reads off to them too. It’s a great initiative that was set up by The Rotary Club in collaboration with The Men’s Shed and Wodonga Senior Secondary College VCAL students.

“It’s another way of advancing literacy in our community and is our way of making a positive impact in our community.”

I’ve started to read books for me again, after reading over 100 kids books with Hunter to encourage his love for reading, and I’m enjoying it so much that I set up an Instagram account where I’ll review the books that I read. Make sure you follow @poppyslittlelibrary_ to keep up to date with that if you love reading too. I picked up a couple of books from the street library near Les Stone Park today actually, so I’m excited to give those a read and then pop them back when I’m done.
