Terry-Ana & family - Mums on the Border - Life with the Lamsays

In this week’s issue of Mums on the Border, we have Terry talking about her birthday trip away to Milawa & the Brown Brother’s Winery.

My name is Terry and we are a family of 3 (hubby and 3 year old daughter) from New Zealand. We have lived in Australia (wodonga) for over 1 year now and absolutely love the Albury-Wodonga region. Having lived in Auckland most of our life, we are appreciative to now be in a big little city with little traffic, significantly less people and yet  still so much to do and see.

Recently, I celebrated a birthday and was surprised to see that the Brown Brothers winery was only an hour from Wodonga. Our little family travelled to Wangaratta and stayed at the Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway.  This is an awesome place for families to stay at that offers a swimming pool and spa which my 3 year old absolutely loved! We also walked the main street which wasn't far from our accommodation and stopped at Wangaratta Scoops Icecreamery for a wee treat.

The next morning we went to Brown Brothers Winery for a prosecco brunch. This wasn't a typical venture for us but because it was my birthday we thought WINE not. The facility was beautiful, open and kid friendly. There were outdoor picnic tables, bean bags and to my surprise - a playground. The playground was covered (perfect for a hot day) and pretty much had everything- a slide, climbing walls, swinging bridge and a digger!

We thank the Lamsay whanau (family) for this blog as it has helped us newbies venture out and experience all that this beautiful region has to offer.

Thank you :)

Until next time!
