Lizzie & family - Mums on the Border - Life with the Lamsays

Here’s another post from our Mums on the Border series. This week we have Lizzie who’s not only a mum, she’s also the owner of Brooklyn and Me in Albury, NSW. They have an online store, as well as a physical one that’s just opened! For her takeover post, she’s written all about Gould Swim School in Lavington.

We’re into our second year of swimming lessons at Gould Swimming in Lavington. Brooklyn had never swam prior to swimming lessons, and boy was I in for a shock on our first few lessons. Brooklyn just cried and screamed for the first month and a bit, but the staff were so understanding and helpful! They chose easier activities for us to start off with, and soon Brooklyn became comfortable enough and started to enjoy it! 

We’re very consistent and attend lessons every single Monday, they run for half an hour which is a perfect amount of time as the kids aren’t getting too restless. If you miss one, you can book in for a make-up lesson as well so you’re not missing out each week! Brooklyn loves her teacher, as they watch how Brooklyn is progressing and move her up when she needs it! She’s just moved up a level too! Usually she’s a bit lazy but suddenly it’s all clicked for her, and she can now swim on her own with floaties and armbands! This summer has been so much more fun now that she likes the water and has a bit more freedom without me needing to hold her as much.

I so highly recommend Gould Swimming, you’ll be supported by such great, understanding staff and you’ll meet some amazing parents in the water. The environment there makes the lessons so much more fun rather than feeling like a chore, and it takes one less tantrum away for the week.
