Update on SJ Dental Surgery, Wodonga VIC - Life with the Lamsays

With the start of a new year, and Dr Stephen Jiang having now left the practice too, I thought it was about time I did an update post about SJ Dental Surgery on Beechworth Road in Wodonga.

It’s now been over 9 months since Dr John Xu and Dr Louise Chew took over the practice, and since they own Marketplace Dental in Wagga Wagga NSW as well, they’ve racked up a fair few miles travelling back fourth the last several months.

We have had a few upgrades at the surgery since my last post as well: the place has been brightened up with a few licks of paint, the couches in the waiting room have been replaced with some black chairs that are easier to get in and out of, and there’s TV screens on the ceiling now so you can lay back and watch something whilst you get your dental work done.

Aside from the aesthetics, there’s also a brand new prophylaxis air flow machine in the surgery too. It projects a controlled stream of air, warm water and a very fine sweet powder on to the tooth and in hard-to-reach areas to dislodge and remove food particles, plaque, discolouration and stains. This machine can be used during your dental clean, and there’s also scanner that saves the uncomfortable feeling of getting an impression done, and the finished scan of your mouth gets sent straight to the lab so they can start working on getting your denture, mouthguard etc made.

We now have the option of Invisalign instead of the traditional braces too, which is something new that the practice now offers. So if you’ve been wanting to straighten your teeth, but have never been a fan of the metal bracket look, book in a consultation to get started.

Both Dr John and Dr Louise have had nothing short of wonderful compliments since taking over SJ Dental, and whilst it’s a shame to see Dr Stephen and Dr Wendy go, you’re definitely still in safe and capable hands at SJ Dental surgery.

Don’t forget that certain health funds run by calendar year, so you may be ready to get your next check up and clean done, and we’re still providers for BUPA and HCF, which means if you or your child play a sport that requires a mouthguard, we can have one custom made for you. We also still see kids using Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Scheme, so if your child hasn’t had their first dental check yet, now is the time to book. Hunter had his first one done by Dr Stephen back in March last year, but has seen Dr John since then and was really pleased he got to ride up and down in the chair. Mumma has also been to get some work done by Dr John, and being scared of the dentist prior to being a patient at SJ Dental, she no longer needs the happy gas to get her through the appointments.

Pop into 201 Beechworth Road, or call on 0260242388 to make an appointment - our opening hours are 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. Dont forget to like our page on Facebook, and if you’ve seen us in the last 9 months, feel free to leave a Google review too. We hope to see you at the surgery soon!

Until next time!
