Great locations to take family photos in Albury Wodonga - Life with the Lamsays

Do you want to take some updated family photos on a budget? You don’t need a fancy camera for this either! Grab a cheap tripod from Kmart and your smartphone, and head to a nice location. Set it up and get the self timer going, or sometimes the tripods come with a Bluetooth button you can press, and you’re good to go!

We did our maternity photoshoot, and our most recent family D.I.Y. shoot at Huon Hill in Wodonga. There’s stunning backgrounds, with not many people around, so you’re able to set up a tripod and not worry about people getting in the way.

Another great spot is out at Lake Hume, which is where we headed originally, but the weir itself was super full! When it’s not though, there’s some great parts that would make really nice backgrounds for photos. It’s also a great spot for a swim on a hot day!

If you’re looking for somewhere on the other side of the border, and you’re up for a bit of a hike, go up to Monument Hill. It’s usually not too busy, and there’s plenty of room to set up the camera or phone on the tripod. After you’re done, head back down to the Albury CBD and grab something to eat or an ice cream.

Last but not least, it’s somewhere that can get quite busy at times, but it has some lovely spots, is Sumsion Gardens. Bonus points because there’s plenty of play areas for kids too! If you time it right, there shouldn’t be too many people around, and you can get some great shots.

Hopefully this has given you some inspiration, and whilst this won’t give you the same result as a professional photoshoot with a photographer, they turn out great, and if you put a nice filter on them too, they’d look great in a frame!  Until next time!
