Spooky Season on the Albury-Wodonga border 2023 - Life with the Lamsays

Happy Halloween everyone! We’ve kicked off our spooky season by going to our family friend’s Halloween party that she threw for some of the kids at Hunter’s old day care centre. A few of the former educators wanted to show how much they miss teaching their little kiddos, so it was a day of crafts, games, yummy food, music and lots of people dressed up in their Halloween costumes which was great!

Hunter enjoyed the painting, making spooky shapes with homemade playdough, and playing with the toy skeleton dog! He loved playing with some of his old friends, and enjoyed helping himself to jelly and lots of other tasty treats.

It was great to see the kids all dressed up, as well as some of the parents (including me)! An awesome turn out, and such a lovely way to get old friends together.

Al’s Skate Co held their own Halloween party/jam last night for all the kids who regularly attend lessons and their other functions. They had best trick competitions, as well as best dressed. It’s awesome to see so many spooky events on the border this year!

Birallee Village Shopping Centre have just finished hosting their Halloween craft workshop where kids decorated their own trick or treat bag! It was free, but limited numbers - hopefully they hold something similar next year too.

On Tuesday night, there’s a Spooktacular Halloween Fair being held at Lester & Son (47 Thomas Mitchell Drive) in Wodonga from 5.30pm-8pm. It’s a gold coin donation, and there’s a haunted house, food, face painting, trick or treat lollies. The proceeds support the Albury Wodonga Paediatric Ward!

If you’re just looking houses to visit when you go trick or treating on the 31st, make sure you check out this map to see which ones are participating this year! We’re keen because there’s a couple of houses very close by, and given that Hunter isn’t the fastest of walkers, it means we don’t have to be out too long for him to participate in the fun!

Until next time!
