Things to do these school holidays in Albury-Wodonga

This year, we’ve traveled to a fair few different places, however, now that it’s the school holidays, I want to share a few ideas of fun things to do here on the border.

WAVES outdoor swimming pool in Wodonga is opening again in a week, and with the splash park there too, it’s fun for kids of all ages. We’re excited to take Hunter for the first time, and our niece and nephew will probably come along for a swim too.

There’s live reptile shows on at Wodonga Plaza from 26th-28th of September. Learn about weird and wonderful Australian reptiles. There’ll be insects, frogs, turtles, lizards, pythons, and even a crocodile. If you have an animal lover at home, I think they’ll enjoy this one.

Bonegilla Migrant Experience has a new display on for the holidays - a replica of a Bonegilla State School classroom. You can pretend to be in an English lesson, whilst dipping your pen in mess-free ink.

Explore your wild side at Hyphen Gallery’s Playspace in Wodonga has their Hierarchy of needs exhibit still on display, which celebrates wild and interesting animals, whilst exploring the importance each animal plays in Earth’s biodiversity.

And if you’re just after something simple to do these school holidays, there’s plenty of playgrounds around, so make sure you check out my older posts if you’re in search of one you might not have been to before! There’s also lots of places to grab a yummy ice cream too! And a couple of Hunter’s personal favourite spots to check out on a regular basis, the Children’s Garden (dinosaur park) at Albury Botanical Gardens, and the Albury Skate Park.

Enjoy your holidays, whatever you choose to get up to. And if you choose to stay home and just enjoy having your kids with you for a bit, soak it all up and relax… as much as you can!

Until next time!
