Checking out the James Scott Memorial Skate Park

Another day, another skate park. We’ve upgraded from playgrounds for a while, and apparently skate parks are our vibe now. Our little dude is loving racing around on his balance bike, trying out different ramps and desperately trying to hang out with the big kids. He falls off, dusts himself off, gets back up, and is whizzing off again. No tears!

This skate area is in Willow Park and isn’t too far from home for us. So I can definitely see us spending a lot more time here, especially when the weather gets a bit warmer. We took Hunter's scooter along this time too, but he was only interested in riding his bike. His birthday is at the end of the year, so we’re thinking of getting him his first proper bike then, and I’m sure he’ll love bringing that here too.

The Albury Skate Park definitely has a lot more space, but this one is really convenient and because Hunter is so young, he didn’t notice the size difference - he still thought it was “so cool man”! It has urban plaza elements such as rails, steps and ledges, as well as two refuge areas with seating, banked walls and a funbox. The jumpbox and quarter pipe from the existing park were upgraded in 2012 to allow multi-directional travel into the snake run.

If you’re looking for somewhere to tire your kids out in Wodonga, and they love riding their bike, scooter, rollerblades or their skateboard, I’d definitely recommend bringing them here.

 Until next time!
