What we got up to in Melbourne

Despite the late night, we got up relatively early and started to make the most of our full day in Dandenong. We hit the beach first, and even though it was super windy, we still had a great time. The beach we went to allowed dogs, so Hunter was impressed! He also saw a dog in a pink jacket, and thought that pigs were allowed on the beach too.

The water was freezing, so we only dipped our feet in, with shoes on. But they had an awesome playground there, read more about that here. We wrote our names in the sand, and then decided to hit the road again to get some shopping done.

Between hitting the shops, and visiting playgrounds, there wasn’t too much time for rest, or food! But we grabbed a quick subway, which wasn’t too pleasant, and we found a Nandos that was actually open once our busy day was over.

The following day, we caught up with my brother, sister, and her boyfriend, and spent from 10am-2.30pm exploring Melbourne Zoo. Hunter had an amazing time keeping his auntie and uncles on their toes by running off! He saw so many animals, but his favourite was the giraffes - he even got a stuffed teddy of one from the gift shop on the way out. We didn’t end up visiting the playground or the dress up/play area for kids this time, because we tried to follow the map and saw as many animals as we could instead - maybe next time!

We definitely want to book another weekend away later on this year when it’s a bit warmer, but we’re currently undecided on where to go. Chelle and I  have been to Apollo Bay and Narooma in the past, and we also caught a plane to Adelaide. Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for a nice Big 4 Tourist park to stay at so we can use some vouchers too!

Until next time!
