Playgrounds worth visiting when you’re in Melbourne

Now, seeing as though we live 3 hours away from Melbourne, we were already going there for an appointment, we decided to make the most of it. These two playgrounds were already on our bucket list, and they weren’t too far away from our hotel either.

The first playground that would be perfect to host a kids birthday party at, is Phoenix Park Adventure Playground in Malvern. It looks stunning, and because it’s a giant castle, kids can also do a lot of make-believe play there too and really use their imagination. Given that our Hunter is not quite two and half yet, and there weren’t any other kids there for him to play with, he had to make do with his two mums instead.

But he loved spinning the wheels, running across the bridges, and finding his way to the slides! He honestly didn’t want to leave the playground, but we had some more stops before heading home, and really had to get going.

I definitely recommend this playground and if we find ourselves in Melbourne again, we’ll be sure to come back here for some more adventures!

The second playground had two separate play areas in the one spot, and it’s called The Grange Reserve in Clayton.

One is alien themed, as it’s a UFO playground with two slides, and you can climb up the ladder and play inside the UFO - how cool is that?! It’s even got little seats in there with steering wheels and a pretend control pad. This is another park which is probably better for kids a little older than our boy, so they can do some great imaginative play.

The other part of the park isn’t really themed, it’s just a cool playground that kind of looks like a rocket - but Hunter loved both of them, and again, was really reluctant to hop back in the  car to start our drive home.

There’s a couple more parks around Melbourne that are on our bucket list to visit, but they were an hour or so from where we were staying, so we’ll have to tick those off on another visit!

Until next time!
